What Is Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)?
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) is the practice of making your content easy for AI answer engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews — to read, understand, and cite. Where traditional SEO competes for blue links on a results page, AEO competes to be the source an AI quotes when it answers a question directly. Why search changed
For two decades, the goal of SEO was to rank — to land a link high enough on a search page that people clicked it. That world is shrinking. - Evidence and attribution — facts, figures, and sources a model can stand behind when it quotes you.
- Crawlability — pages the AI crawlers are actually allowed and able to fetch.
The 8-dimension AEO readiness score

The output is a readiness score with prioritized recommendations — not a promise of placement. A high score means your content is well-prepared to be cited; it does not mean any specific engine will cite it on any given query.
Multi-model consensus
Different answer engines run on different models and weigh things differently, so testing against just one is misleading.
